Banana Bread Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3 ripe bananas

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x4-inch loaf pan. In a large bowl, cream the shortening and sugar. Sift in the flour, baking soda and salt. Blend in the mashed bananas. Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake in preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
